Oh, your remember that weird BGI submission to EBI in mid-December 2019? It transpires that EBI just assign these slots randomly in advance...they have nothing to do with the date when the sequences were sent. So, there isnothing weird here at all.

Just for you! The public health people want to if a lineage carrying Erik alone is the cause for concern. In this case Iwould say no because I think this lineage has been around since 2020-03-23 according to Pangolin. Thoughts?

All SARS-CoV-2 viruses are of concern, the ones containing Erik, a little more so. But yeah - I'm not sure it does all that much by itself and I wouldn't really do anything differently because it's that one.
