```ppttStrfrraTSgvs``` Don't want to distract from this important work and I think @Andrew Rambaut has already figured most of this out, but there is a relevant story about furin cleavage sites in MERS CoV. This sequence is from HKU5, which has a very MERS-like spike [ https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/23720729/ ] and a somewhat better FCS than the minimal one inMERS-CoV. The capitalized STS are predicted O-glycans. Maybe these are used maybe not, but coincidences keep popping up {HKU1, OC43, MHC etc]. It's another data point that I believe shows that the furin site in SARS2 could evolve naturally. At the end of the day [thanks to this good work K and E] besides the wild thrashing around the "unusual" FCS is about all the Yans and Chans of the world are going to have left.
I think you should put this up in a peer-reviewed journal ASAP. Maybe it's my mean streak, maybe it's just that I think that Daszak is going to screw it up or maybe I think the RBG September surprise has shook up the Presidential race, but the "*IT ESCAPED FROM WIV*" crowd is empowered not depowered at the moment - science literally bedamned.
Nah, I got more important papers to attend to - most importantly, one from NOLA :wink:. I'll put a summary up onVirological later today though - just so one can point to it.
OK that should do it - next best thing. It will probably elicit more "Running Dog" commentary on the twitter. Maybe agood thing - you can add to your montage. Nature should give Batwoman a chance to respond to her accusers https://www.minervanett.no/alina-chan-coronavirus-covid19/contradicting-statements-cast-doubts-on-chinese-raw-data/364540 Nothing nefarious there. And yeah - Mardi Gras manuscript!
