https://www.discovermagazine.com/health/chasing-the-shadow-virus-chronic-fatigue-syndrome-and-xmrv I'm sure you all know this but Mikovits is the one who brought the world XMRV as the cause of chronic fatigue syndrome. Ian Lipkin (I've heard that name before) and also Charles Chiu to their credit are the one who did the debunking. Somewhere along the way Mikovits never learned that PCRs are prone to contamination (see my post above re Hooper). She do have the big hate for our boy Tony - wow - he be living her head rent-free. [2020-05-06 17:14:21] [Eddie Holmes] Ah...I didn't make the connection. What a mess. There is a lot of shit about. [2020-05-06 17:47:21] [Kristian Andersen] Such an obnoxious tweet from the editor - I am absolutely inundated with review requests (probably ~5 a day), so I totally agree with you Eddie. I can't even... https://twitter.com/edwardcholmes/status/1258192892734005248?s=20 [2020-05-06 20:03:46] [Eddie Holmes] I think the local right-wing paper here (The Telegraph) are going to a run a story saying that I am in the pay of China which is why I am against the lab escape theory. Will get my lawyers ready... [2020-05-06 20:13:00] [Kristian Andersen] Oh, how fun - "Eager Eddie" on the front page with tons of monies floating around. :heavy_dollar_sign::heavy_dollar_sign::heavy_dollar_sign::heavy_dollar_sign::heavy_dollar_sign: [2020-05-06 20:13:31] [Kristian Andersen] ... that is to say - that's really messed up. Let's hope it doesn't come to that [2020-05-06 20:17:02] [Eddie Holmes] shared file(s): Daily Telegraph media inquiry.pdf [2020-05-06 20:18:59] [Eddie Holmes] Obviously, I've not received a cent and no money goes between the two countries. Worse, the irony is that we were some of the very first people to actually raise the lab escape issue, although I obviously can't say that. [2020-05-06 20:21:51] [Kristian Andersen] Reading that email, are they daft? That's really dumb [2020-05-06 20:22:25] [Eddie Holmes] Yes, really, really dumb. [2020-05-06 20:23:02] [Kristian Andersen] "we were some of the very first people to actually raise the lab escape issue" - we were _the_ first to take this seriously - and so we did. And our conclusions are solid and, importantly, stick 100% to the science. [2020-05-06 20:23:40] [Eddie Holmes] Exactly!
