"In addition to the inexplicable genetic distance from its sister strains, which screams out for an intermediate relative
to complete the phylogenetic picture, SARSnCoVn2 [...]".
Fuck it, I'm going to use that in one of my upcoming publications too - the tree SCREAMS out for an intermediate
relative!!!

I just don't get how BioEssays took this shite.

Hah, yeah, dunno. It's fine though - but I just don't understand that people keep ignoring pangolins... So dumb. I
agree it was mysterious - really mysterious - but then some pangolin viruses came around and mystery solved.
Clearly not Bayesians.

Worth a read - IMO some of the requests are reasonable (others definitely not) if EgoHealth wanted their grant
reissued.

Yes, I read this earlier. EgoHealth just don't help themselves by the ridiculous way they consistently over-hype the
importance of their work.

And then don't release the data (I.e. Guinea bat Ebola)

Yup. It's really disgusting. BioHip and EgoHealth should have a baby.

Have to say that WSJ doing better reporting than say NBC - the quote from Varmus - wow. What I can't really
imagine is the conversations Lauer had - with say the CIA - to lead him to ask Daszak that series of questions. I also
suspect that pressure to act on Ego - and try to extract China damaging info - now before the election - is coming
from outside NIH.
