These facilities meet the requirements outlined in national guidelines and regulations. such as the Biosafety in Microbiological and Biomedical Laboratories (BMBL) 6" edition. the NIH Guidelines for Research Involving Recombinant or Synthetic Nucleic Acid Molecules. and the Select Agent regulations. These facilities are inspected annually by extemal agencies. such as the Federal Select Agent Program (FSAP) and the Association for Assessment and Acereditation of Laboratory Animal Care (AAALAC). to ensure compliance with federal regulations and industry standards.
