sticking around much in a post-pandemic world except maybe for the oldest high school students
or on snow days. It just doesn't work well for younger students.
Asynchronous learning, on the other hand, is here to stay--although in a different form
from what we saw during the height of the pandemic. In this type of instruction students watch
prerecorded lectures and complete assignments on their own schedule, and teachers can post
prompts on a discussion board and ask their class to weigh in for credit.
I know that both forms of remote learning were frustrating for many teachers, parents,
and students, and that the idea of keeping any version of them might not seem appealing. But

Just think about how digital curricula can make homework more enriching and engaging.
If you're a student, you'll be able to get feedback in real time while you do your homework
online. The days of turning in your homework and then waiting to see what you got right should
be behind you. The content will be more interactive and personalized to you, helping you focus
on areas where you need a bit more help while boosting your confidence by giving you problems
you're comfortable solving.
If you're a teacher, you'll be able to see how quickly your students worked and how often
they needed hints, giving you a deeper understanding of how your kids are doing. A simple
button click will show you that Noah might need more help on a particular type of question and
that Olivia is ready to take on a more advanced reading assignment.
Digital tools can facilitate more personalized learning in the classroom too. One example
I'm familiar with is the Summit Learning Platform. Students work together with teachers to pick
a goal--maybe you want to get into a specific university or prepare for a certain career path--
