Apparently, the CDC has the authority to block evictions during a public health emergency. The moratorium expired and the Supreme Court ruled that they could not reinstitute it. Now Nancy Pelosi is furious because the public is blaming the Congress for not solving the problem. Pelosi is asking the White House to do it and the White House is turfing it to the CDC. The CDC does not have the authority to overrule the courts and so there's a lot of tension going on. Larry Horowitz who works with Pelosi called me to ask me to try and convince Rochelle to reinstitute the moratorium, get sued (which she will lose ), and thus give enough time to get money to the people who are being evicted to prevent their eviction.
