ri Confirmed Cases [Thousancs 24 September 2020 Cases should stabilize next week If we can contain spread In university towns and if we can get control of community spread in the heartland up through MN, WI, 5D, ND Improved testing rates are allowing test positivity to be predictive again and its rising dramatically in UT (Prove area), OK, 5D, MIT, WI (slide 6) UT, OK, SD, MIT, ID all over 10% test positivity and are experiencing broad community spread except ID which continues to improve and test positivity dropping [slide 6) Most concerning is the rising confirmed hospitalizations in over 70 yo (slide 5)-- the most at risk for poor outcomes -- this has returned to levels seen in early August--largely driven by community spread several weeks ago when we experience the large decline in testing and inability to see the early spread among younger groups and ability to contain the community spread before impacting the elderly.
