As you all know, Dr. Fauci has led NIAID since 1984, and it is impossible to capture the enormity of his contributions. His extraordinary leadership of NIAID, and through it the Division of AIDS, has been unparalleled. His ability to see the world, and make it better, has been astonishing: from the most fundamental scientific questions, to the most difficult clinical problems of our lifetimes, to the many public health challenges the world
