This will be part of a larger BBC program on the history of AID in which they have me playing a major role in the program. The POTUS thanked all of the EROLA HCWs, USG officials, and others for our work on Ebola. He called out several people -- Tom Frieden, Raj Shah for Ebola response, me and Nancy Sullivan for vaccine development among others in the room. Nancy was up on the stage with the POTUS together with others from USPHS, DoD, State, etc. He gave a good speech. Met all the team there with Leslie Dach, Sylvia Burwell. Leslie remarked how many people I have trained -- Cliff Ron Klain's last day as the Ebola response Coordinator. I will miss him. Feb. 14, 2015 -- Was supposedto go to San Jose today for the AAAS Annual meeting to speak on Ebola. I backed out due to too much travel. However, they wanted me to and I did participate by video-link in the Press Conference after the session. The situation with Ebola continues to decrease with very few cases in Liberia. Sierra Leone and Guinea still smoldering. Was planning on going to Liberia with Cliffi on feb. 22-26. However, decided to cancel since my back is very painful and the trip would be horrible with the latovers and connection. Measles sill an issue, but as expected much less press interest. Feb. 19, 2015 --I had a framed certificate made for Ron Klain that I delivered to his office (Revolution LLC) on 1717 Rhode Island Avenue, N.W. I really like Ron and think that he did a great job as Ebola response Coordinator.
