GI Lesions
Gastrointestinal (Gl) lesions that are not typically associated
with filoviral disease in NHPs
Lesions not seen in healthy NHP toxicology studies
The lesions were more severe and occurred nearly
exclusively in animals from the groups that received favipiravir
Distal small intestine, cecum, colon
Foci and transmural areas of hemorrhage and necrosis,
adhesions, stringy white material
Hard feces
Material in stomach and intestines that appeared similar to
favipiravir
Potential complicating factors

* Opioid effect of sedation on GI tract
