Hi Tara, Congrats on your Acting Principal Deputy Director appointment! I spoke with Larry earlier today and he noted how pleased he was to have you working in this capacity. I had the chance to share with him a new venture that we've launched at the foundation and he recommended that I connect with you. I plan to do some targeted outreach in the DC area in the next couple of months and would love your perspectives before I start to initiate contact. Would you have time for a chat in the next week or two? Hi Larry, Tara, Following up on our recent chats, I wanted to confidentially share with you a draft overview of our new effort. Please note that this continues to be a work in progress, so I'd ask that you please not share this material. This is meant to give you a sense of the programmatic areas we are currently pursuing - what is missing in this version is the incentives element that I think is incredibly important for discussion and I'll build into the next iteration. I'm currently targeting May 2-4 to visit the DC area for exploratory meetings. I'd love to meet with you during that time if possible, and also welcome your recommendations on additional potential partners - perhaps in the BARDA ecosystem? I'm not connected there and would appreciate your advice/introduction. Many thanks and have a great weekend! Jenni

In advance, please find attached an updated overview of our efforts (still a work in progress, so I'd appreciate if you don't share further). It would be great to touch on the incentives concept that is now included. We've had some interesting conversations with European funder colleagues on this front and I'd like to see what you think about it with respect to ARPA-H, while of course recognizing that the Director has not yet been named and much is yet to be determined. Given your roles in its stand-up, I'm interested to see what you think. Separately, I'll also have a chance to connect with Bruce T on any potential portfolio areas of overlapping interest. He's traveling next week but I'll have a chat with him and Taylor G the following week. Many thanks for that suggestion/connection! Best, Jenni
