Dear Francis and Richard, I wanted to thank both of you for your support and engagement as my team and I have explored opportunities to accelerate the discovery of scientific breakthroughs by enhancing access to Alzheimer's disease research data. I was great that Richard and Eliezer could participate in the working session last week. I understand that their input and engagement was extremely helpful. I appreciate the NIA's participation in this coalition of like-minded funders to help strengthen the data ecosystem for Alzheimer's disease. I am convinced that better leveraging the data being generated by studies funded by the NIH can accelerate the development of an effective treatment for Alzheimer's disease. Through the personal stories in your book, we hope to generate stimulating discussions that inspire conversation and personal discovery. Should you accept this invitation, the NIH Big Read would kick off here in the next couple of weeks with an announcement to engage the NIH community and encourage participation in small-group discussions.
