# Transcript

**[2020-11-18T11:34:15] Kristian G. Andersen:** I DO NOT APPRECIATE THE COMPETITION FROM OTHER DANES. THERE CAN ONLY BE ONE!!!!!!! [shared file(s): Screen Shot 2020-11-18 at 11.33.32.png]

**[2020-11-18T12:27:48] Edward C. Holmes:** Crush them! I just did an interview with a journalist from India and I sent them the proximal origins paper in hope ofsome extra coverage.

**[2020-11-18T12:47:05] Kristian G. Andersen:** Here's what I said to Eddie in a text - it's tricky. "Argh, that's a tricky edge case - send it back with "biologicallyimplausible"? The problem is, it's a reject based on peer review and not a reject because of somethingfundamentally wrong that can be glanced by quickly screening it"

**[2020-11-18T12:51:48] Edward C. Holmes:** I think we have it resolved now.

**[2020-11-18T12:52:05] Edward C. Holmes:** You can just imagine the headlines...

**[2020-11-18T12:53:18] Kristian G. Andersen:** South Africa made quite a splash yesterday with the mutants. Things are going well.

**[2020-11-18T12:53:58] Edward C. Holmes:** South Australia? Yes, that was dumb. No data at all.

**[2020-11-18T12:56:30] Kristian G. Andersen:** Oh, that was South Australia - whatever, one of those . Yes, that was really terrible.

**[2020-11-18T12:58:38] Edward C. Holmes:** Yes, total shit. Will they ever learn?

**[2020-11-18T13:01:42] Kristian G. Andersen:** No.

**[2020-11-18T13:02:06] Kristian G. Andersen:** Which, silver lining, should keep us in business for a while.

**[2020-11-18T13:33:36] Robert F. Garry:** @trishgreenhalgh has done a pretty good job of tearing into the Danish mask study. Would be "ironic" if a poorlydone epi projection, an old HCQ paper from VJ and a not-so-well done mask study all beat out Proximal Origins onAltmetric....
