# Transcript

**[2020-07-28T17:24:30] Edward C. Holmes:** I wonder where Deep Throat will hawk his story next?

**[2020-07-28T17:25:40] Kristian G. Andersen:** Who?

**[2020-07-28T17:30:47] Edward C. Holmes:** The anonymous cowardly fuck that emailed Jon. Have you read/seen 'All the Presidents Men'? Stuff of legend.

**[2020-07-28T17:33:09] Edward C. Holmes:** My point is that if Jon ignores him, will he send it to some other journo?

**[2020-07-28T17:38:34] Kristian G. Andersen:** Ah, of course . Yeah, God knows what he does next - I invite him to do whatever and we'll crush that sadmotherfucker.

**[2020-07-28T17:40:01] Kristian G. Andersen:** I'm 98% certain this is Baric... He'll deeply regret it if he goes public with this information - and I can't really see how that would possibly do him any good?

**[2020-07-28T17:50:00] Edward C. Holmes:** I agree - must be Baric. We have all the documentation to back up what happened and he'd look like a total knob for trying to suppress discussion of lab origins. Anonymous emailing a journo is so, so pathetic. Even Jeremy told methat the email was "total bollocks".

**[2020-07-28T17:53:37] Kristian G. Andersen:** It's really sad. It would be kinda funny if he tried to get this out - we'd turn the attention right back on him trying tosuppress proper science and inquiry. It would make him look really bad...

**[2020-07-28T18:00:02] Edward C. Holmes:** Really bad

**[2020-07-28T18:34:57] Kristian G. Andersen:** Sneaky thought.... Should we go on the attack? We could raise this issue with Clare since this is a clear and direct breach of confidentiality of the review process.

**[2020-07-28T18:38:16] Kristian G. Andersen:** I could forward the email as coming "from a reporter disclosing confidential information from the review process".

**[2020-07-28T18:38:49] Kristian G. Andersen:** (Jon would not be named/implicated)

**[2020-07-28T18:45:23] Kristian G. Andersen:** Let me sleep on this - but I think this is what we should do. Clare would know exactly who this person is and it would prevent/mitigate future bs from this person

**[2020-07-28T19:31:36] Kristian G. Andersen:** We could also write to Ralph on his Proton email - "Dear Ralph [...]"... Sorry, but I feel like having some 'fun' here. I'm offended by this email and I'm not known for just taking the punches...

**[2020-07-28T19:33:29] Edward C. Holmes:** Let me sleep on it as well. I would be good to be proactive, but we don't want to drop anyone else in the shit.
